my 2 cents on this topic...being a stickler for spelling and pronouncing 
words correctly --
always check the original text before teaching a song or prayer - don't trust 
songsheets (there are often typos) and don't rely on recordings, because with 
a few notable exceptions, lots of people record songs with subtle (and 
sometimes not so subtle) hebrew mistakes.  usually ones that could have been 
avoided if the artist had checked a siddur or tanach rather than just singing 
the words as they remembered them from camp or from a teacher who wasn't 
careful or didn't know better...

it's bad enuf that we butcher melodies, let's try to get the words right!
