[HANASHIR:9964] anthems

I have never heard of an anthem being used in a Jewish service, but in
church services anthems are choral settings which either come at the
Offertory part of the service (where the folks give money) or during
Communion.  This is distinguished from a solo.  The words of an anthem are
not part of the liturgy per se, but rather are text that is related to the
service, such as a motet based on the readings or sermon subject.
