[HANASHIR:9963] pdf attachment

I receive the hanashir list in digest form in Microsoft Outlook on
NTWorkstation.  All attachments received on the digest come to me as
gobbleygook.  I have Adobe Acrobat 4.0, etc.  Could someone please tell me
if there is any way to decode the gobbelygook?
