Dear Ellen,
My name is David Wirtschafter. I was ordained from the NY campus in 1997. We
are considering hiring a cantororial soloist for alternative high holiday
services who intends to apply to HUC-JIR for the fall of 2002. What is the
high holiday honorarium for cantorial students and/or rabbinical students
returning from Israel. The information would be helpful to us in determining
what appropriate compensation would be. Thanks for your help.
David

talk with you and any others at HN this year about the possibility of
cantorial school and the way to prepare while you are in college. In
advance I'll let you know that music courses (in theory, harmonization and
sight-singing) are a must, as is Hebrew.
> Those of y'all who are interested in talking more about the cantorate -
we'll grab some time at OSRUI? I'm glad to chat.
