Judy,
I do know what you are talking about with "Ivrit...Ivrit Daber Ivrit", or
at least a variation on it:
For many summers at UAHC Camp Swig the Israeli Scouts (aka Tzofim) who used
to join us at camp all summer would do a daily shtick for the kids where
they would act out a silly scene that would always end in some funny moment
and an English pun using a Hebrew word, followed by the "Ivrit, Ivrit,
Ivrit Daber Ivrit...Whooo!" jingle. As I remember it, the only part they
actually sang was the jingle at the end...
I am sure that I once even saw a vocabulary list of Hebrew words that
sounded like English words or phrases that could be used in the "Ivrit
Daber Ivrit" schticks, but a quick internet search this evening yielded no
results...
Here are the three that I remember:
The shopping for real-estate scene: "That's a real nice HOUSE, I think I'd
like to BAYIT!"
The family takes a trip to the zoo scene: "WHY is there a LLAMA up your nose?"
The accidental stabbing at the dinner table scene: "Oh no, there is a FORK
in MAZLEG (Ma's Leg)!"
Seems like it wouldn't be hard to make up a few more...
Hope this helps a little!
