[HANASHIR:8551] Re: music and meditation

Hi Rachelle,

To answer your request I'll relax my self-imposed "gag order" on self-promotion
on this list.

I wrote a meditation based on the phrase "Kol Dmama Daka", ("Still, small
voice", or "Sound of Silence"), and the "Sh'ma". It's in the Key of A, which
is considered a natural frequency for meditation, and is based on the vowel "A"
(as in S'hma), which is associated with the Heart Chakra. It can be used as an
"active meditation" or you can just relax and listen to it. It was presented
last year at CAJE in a Healing and Spirituality service. It's on my CD.

Also, there is a wonderful way to meditate on the "Sh'ma" itself - contact me
privately if you want to know how. If you notice, the Sh'ma too is primarily
an "A" sound - Sh'mA...AdonAi...echAd. No coincidence!

Has anyone on the list had any experience with combining music and Jewish
meditation?
