[HANASHIR:7982] Re: Percussion usage

Hi,
In Iowa we use Tambourine for Yismechu, ( on Shabbat) we also have
talented congregants who bring in their assorted instruments--violin, drums,
cello, clarinet, oboe d'amore, etc., and then the service is always a bit
more freylach than ususal. This year, we are doing a klez/jazz ensemble for
Shabbat Shira and a rock and roll band for Purim. WE also have a klezmer
band on Simchat Torah. All this musical stuff brings more people into Shul
and gets more people ivolved and invested in their synagogue. My motto has
always been, "The more the merrier." ( But, you have to remember, this is
Iowa, after all. It's all that corn we eat and put into our gasoline--it's
in the air.")
Good luck,
Marsha
