[HANASHIR:7485] anorther money question

Hi gang. Not strictly a musical question...

I've been asked to be the organizer of a large Jewish musical event --
possibly a "music-fest" type of thing, or maybe a double bill with two
"national acts" -- here in Cleveland for a Jewish day school as a fundraiser.
The nature of the event is still in the brainstorming stages and there is no
one at the school with a knowledge contemporary Jewish artists, putting on a
show, etc...which is why they called me. It is being funded by an anonymous
parent who will underwrite all of the expenses (including my fee) and then
donate any money made over expenses to the school. This is a way for him to
bring Jewish music to the community and do something for the school.

Anyway...they asked me what I would charge. We're looking at staging the
event in about a year (Dec. 2001 or Jan. 2002) so we're looking at about a
year's worth of planning. I know there must be a large ballpark on this one,
but any ideas about how to figure a fee would be much appreciated. Private
emails encouraged.

PS. If this thing ever gets off the ground, I will probably post another
email tot his list with a call for interested performers to send PR, CDs,
etc. Until then, thanks in advance for all of the sage advice I know I will
get.
