[HANASHIR:7376] Re: Choral Music for winter concerts in p

This is indeed a loaded subject. I would be happy to correspond with anyone
privately about it. Two years ago I did an Orff workshop on Music of the
Jewish People, appropriate for Elementary Choral teachers. I feel strongly
that we should be using "real" music and not "written for Chanukah" music.
Secular teachers need to be exposed to the wealth of beautiful music of our
people, which would be entirely appropriate at winter concerts, as opposed to
sticking to purely "holiday" music. When I taught public school, we moved all
our winter concerts to January, just to avoid the issue.
