[HANASHIR:6438] Re: Certification of Synagogue Musicians

Rabbi Schachet has hit one issue square on the head.

Many of us synagogue music professionals complain about how little we are
paid. Many of us complain about how our voices are ignored over those of the
invested cantors and ordained rabbis and teachers with RJE, etc.

Certification is one way to address that. And parnassa matters. However, my
main interest in pursuing the idea of a synagogue music certification is in
the area of competence, to assure that our congregations are getting what
they need.
