[HANASHIR:6048] Re: Headpiece microphone

Well, here we go again. I have no individual e-mail to respond to so I have
to respond to the whole list. Susan, when you mention head piece thing, I
would certainly not advise you to get a head set mike. I would recommend
instead for the bima, a lavalier. These clip on to your clothing and you
wear a small box under your clothes somewhere. You can move wherever you
want. One of the best lav. mikes I have used was one at Jeff Klepper's old
congregation in Evanston. It picked up well and consistently. Maybe Jeff
can let us know what that was. I use a headset mike (ala Garth Brooks) when
I do performances because it enables me to be able to sing and sign and
interact with the audience. This is better than a lav. for this purpose
because no matter where you move your head, the mike follows you. Generally
on the bima, you are singing fairly straight ahead.
So, I would personally go with a nice lavalier mike on the bima.
