I also just purchased and listened to the Camp Swig/Camp Newman CD that Josh
Miller put together and it is a must for any songleader. Lots of good songs,
lots of enthusiasm -- a great resource. Order it from

Review of Hebrew In Song:

What a very pleasant and educational collection of songs Ronit Ben-Arie has put
together in her new release "Hebrew In Song". Ronit specializes in teaching
Hebrew through the arts and in this collection she helps any teacher do just
that. These original songs (21 in all) are in Hebrew and English and introduce
young children to simple Hebrew words and phrases as a way to teach Hebrew
vocabulary and grammar as well as provide information about Jewish celebrations
and customs and the Jewish year.

The CD comes with a songbook which contains melody line, chords and lyrics to
all songs. In addition, the book contains actual Hebrew, transliteration and a
dictionary for each song. Ronit also includes helpful and creative activity
suggestions for each song using art, movement, drama and games. The music is
pitched in a range where young children can sing and many of the songs would
provide beautiful presentations for school assemblies or special concerts. The
songs follow an organized sequence including songs about Shabbat, the holidays,
the seasons, colors and a beautiful lullaby titled "Zman Lishon".

The songs are pleasingly sung (with a slight Israeli inflection) by Sharon
Alcalay. This collection is a must for schools (especially Jewish Day Schools)
that wish to incorporate more Hebrew into their curriculum. What better way to
teach Hebrew than through music!
