Just a thought - my colleague Linda Hirschhorn has a wonderful song called WE
REMEMBER THEM for Aids awareness - that she would be delighted to offer up
i'm sure - vocolot (at) sirius(dot)com and I have a HELP TO HEAL THE WORLD with
a
refrain of El na refa na la from one of Hanna Tiferet's niggunim - for kids'
chorus. Let me know if anyone is interested and I can send the music and
lyrics.
I also don't know if this is an appropriate forum but perhaps it could be .
As a freelance musician/performer I am always looking for contacts of people,
Synagogue Educators/ Cantors or Program Directors who put together cultural
arts programming. I have just returned from a Houston JCC arts series weekend
(Craig was already there,) and would love to send relevant info to program
directors all over.
This year I've already performed at a number of congregations staffed by many
members of this list and thought we could exchange that type of info as well
- ie who has the type of programming we can slot into. whether it is working
with community choruses, concertizing, or music workshops and
artist-in-residencies.
And finally, I like the idea of offering recordings to colleagues at a
reduced rate. For those of you who are not familiar with MOSTLY MATZAH -
Passover songs for kids, it is now out on CD and I will follow Craig's
example of making it available at a discount. I know that I support and
recommend works of my coleagues - new and old - whenever I can. I will be in
the studio with Rick Calvert in mid-April finalizing the recording of his
incredible music. Watch for it by June.
