Believe it or not, the famous Uncle Moishe adapted Hamalach with beautiful 
words. 
When you are ready to sleep
Hashem sends Malachim to watch over you
Cause all of His children are special
For all of the mitzvos they do
Remember to say Shema
Remember the mitzvos that you did today
Turn to Hashem and say thank you
For the Torah which shows us the way

May I go on record for knowing this...and those who know me can laugh...that 
there is a beautiful song called I think,  "Lullaby" on Mary Chapin 
Carpenters album Party Doll. Its not "Jewish" but I sing it often to my 
kids.The bridge goes..."Every tired boy and girl, in every bed around the 
world, can hear the stars up in the sky, whispering a lullaby......" nothing 
beats the power of suggestion when mom and dad need some time to even just 
say hello to each other at the end of the day. This song really has it and it 
works.Try not to put your spouse to sleep when you sing it.
