I'm afraid I can't remember the exact title of the book, but there is a text 
put out by the Breslov 
Institute on Jewish Healing that contains a chapter about chanting/song and 
healing, drawing on 
the teachings of Reb Nachman of Bratslav.  Quite challenging, theologically - 
it talks about things 
in ways that are less common to progressive Judaism.
