[HANASHIR:4965] Travelling Jews, Travelled Jew, Celebrate Series Web Site

Hi,

A little more info on the "Jewish Travelers' Resource Guide"...I just
picked up the 2000 edition in, of all places, Jerusalem where I spent
the last couple of weeks as part of the Birthright 2000 trip as a
staff member for the local Hillel I work at here in the San Fernando
Valley (dude).

It's compiled by Jeff Seidel's Jewish Student Information center and
it features contacts for Jewish Hospitality around the world, e-mail
address, websites, international 'Kosher Agencies', and more.

I think it's free...at least my copy was and when I got a copy of it
about 8 years ago in Jerusalem, it was also free...but don't quote me
on that.

ISBN 1-58330-409-6
Distributed by Feldheim Publishers
200 Airport Executive Park
Spring Valley, NY 10977

or you can e-mail Jeff Seidel at jseidel (at) netmedia(dot)net(dot)il

The trip to Israel was amazing (as such things tend to be)...I had
the opportunity to lead (musically speaking) Shabbat services in a
Kibbutz in the north (the one where they invented the Epilady) and
Havdallah in Jerusalem.

I also had a great experience teaching my group this one niggun which
we learned at Hava Nashira a couple years back...it's the one that
goes 'ya la la la la'...you know...the one in the minor key...we were
sitting at Nachal David near Ein Ghedi and across the road from the
Dead sea by a waterfall were, apparently, King David wrote the Psalms
before he was king.

I also also saw a concert by Danny Sanderson of K'veret fame, of They
Wrote Yoya fame and realized the last time I danced Yoya was when
bunches of us were in the dining hall at OSRUI participating in our
extended mega-mix of Od Yavo Shalom Aleinu. Ahh memories.

I also rode on a donkey.

There's a new website up for Craig Taubman's Celebrate Series
featuring the first album in that series 'Celebrate Chanukah.' It's
complete with artist info, liner notes, and listenable Real Audio
selections from all of the tracks on the CD. It'll be updated with
additional CD's from the series as they are published (Celebrate
Passover is up next).

Check it out at: http;//CelebrateSeries.com/

As my friend Janeen Kobrinsky says: "Only four and a half months left
til Hava Nashira"
