Thanks to David Rosenthal at Shamash, I am happy to report that the archives
for the Hanashir list are now available from web-based archives at:
http://www.shamash.org/listarchives/hanashir/
Remember that you can always search the hanashir archives
TO SEARCH:
Send the following message to listproc (at) shamash(dot)org and have the
message (not
the subject) read:
search LISTNAME SEARCH-TERM
(Replace LISTNAME with the list's name, and SEARCH-TERM with the words for
which you'd like to search.)
Listproc will reply with a list of the files from that list archive which
contain your SEARCH-TERM, with a little bit of context for each occurrence
of the term.
TO RETRIEVE THE FILE:
First, you must know the name of the file you are requesting. To do find
this, do a search of the list archives or get an index of the files in the
archive. Once you know the name of the file you want to request, send the
following message to listproc (at) shamash(dot)org and have the message (not the
subject) read:
get LISTNAME FILENAME
(Replace LISTNAME with the list's name. The FILE Where can I send a message
announcing a new Jewish web site or mailing list?NAME is the file you want
to obtain, which usually has either a month and year as part of its name, or
a volume and number.)
Alternatively, you can look at the file from the web archives.
If it is a long file (as archives often are) it may be broken down into
several messages.
