Jerusalem Lyric Trio

West Coasters!
On Sunday evening I attended a performance of the Jerusalem Lyric Trio, and
was delighted. This is a performance ensemble of a very high calibre, with an
excellent repertoire. The music is not too difficult and is enjoyable, yet
interesting enough for sophisticated music lovers. The concert was mostly
Jewish art music, that is, composed compositions with Jewish content,
musically or thematically. There were also some lovely arrangements of Israeli
folk songs. Moshe Denburg, of Tsimmes fame (to many of you in klezmer land),
also composed a work for this trio. Those of you who might get the opportunity
to attend should consider making the effort to get out to see them.
