In digest 2684 there was discussion by Carl Nelkin and others of
connections between Irish and Jewish music. 5 or 10 years ago I heard a
group named "Bustan Avraham" perform on tour. It was made up of
Palestinian and Israeli musicians playing together, "bustan" apparently a
word for garden shared by Hebrew and Arabic. The percussionist included in
his battery a large, shallow drum described in the program notes as an
"Irish frame drum."
