ARAB & JUDEO-ANDALUSIAN MUSIC OF MOROCCO
The Orchestra of Fes, directed by Mohamed Briouel, performs the classical 
Arab-Andalusian repertoire, which traces its roots to the 9th-century Moorish 
courts of southern Spain. The music in its current form dates back to the 18th 
century and is performed in Arabic, Hebrew, and Ladino, the language of the 
Sephardim. Francoise Atlan, a singer of Sephardic songs based in Paris, joins 
the 
orchestra.


Presented by Carnegie Hall in Partnership with the World Music Institute.
