An inspiring evening of global Jewish fusion, gearing up for Purim. Formed in 1977, Habrera Hativeet ("The Natural Gathering") is an eclectic and original ensemble whose perfomances provide a unique perspective on the richness of Israel's ethnic music, with musical inspiration from Morocco, Iran, India and Israel. Led by Moroccan-born Israeli star vocalist and percussionist Shlomo Bar, Habrera Hativeet's sound has evolved from authentic Sephardic, Eastern, African and Middle Eastern, roots and draws from traditional songs from Yemen and Morocco, Hasidic songs and Israeli poetry with inspiration from Biblical as well as modern Israeli themes. "For me," says Shlomo Bar, "music is something eternal without beginning or end. In my music there are elements of prayers, wonder, yearning and messianism." www.shlomobar.com
