Thanks Hankus.  You wouldn't by any chance remember more specifically  where
in the Zylbersweig Lexikon these paragraphs occur?

By the way, I find it remarkable that there is such a dearth if information
on such a well known (in his genre), prolific, and frequently recorded
artist.

There are four paragraphs on him (in Yiddish) in the Zylbersweig Lexikon
(available at YIVO).  Ben Gailing used to always refer to David Meyerovitch
as Yud Yud Meyerovitch.  I wondered if those were his Hebrew (Yiddish)
initials or if he was mistaking him for a different Meyerovitch.
