Dear Sylvia,

I seemed to have lost the message where you asked about these, but funnily 
enough I'm just returning from Paris (to London) where I bought a copy of 
"Images et Traditions Juives" by Gerard Silvain and published in 1997 by Celiv 
Edit. (ISBN2-86535311-7) - it's a huge compilation of postcards (1897-1917) 
that tells the history of the diaspora, although it is not comprehensive.  I 
found it in a stand that sells Jewish stuff in the antique market in Porte de 
Clignancourt, but this was the only copy they had.
