Re: Dona Dona - memories and Smithsonian Folkways

Sylvia, thank you for this marvelous and rich profile of your late husband!  
His twin involvement in Jewish and (general/American) folk song, and the 60s 
revival in particular, is fascinating--esp. for me, who soaks up that stuff!

I'm mystified, now, as to the respective roles of various translators in re 
Dona, Dona.  I'll see if I can turn up anything enlightening on the subject.
