Is anyone looking for a place to practice in London for a low cost? Please see
information below!!!
from William Hancox:
I am a pianist, vocal coach and singing teacher, and run a teaching practice in
Studio 219 , Westbourne Studios, from Tuesday to Friday each week, working with
classically trained singers and pianists.
Westbourne Studios is a brand-new development with about 90 studio units of
various sizes situated - literally - under Westway, right next to Westbourne
Park tube station. There's a restaurant/bar, lecture hall/recital room,
exhibition space and an exciting mix of studio holders.
Studio details
a.. About 280 square feet
b.. Soundproofed (at my expense!) so that no sound travels to adjacent
studios, but excellent live acoustic within the studio itself.
c.. Yamaha Conservatory Grand Piano (I will tune and maintain)
d.. 2 music stands
e.. Tea and coffee
f.. Toilets just down the corridor
g.. Videophone entry system
h.. 24 hour access with security on site.
I am looking for a person or persons who would like to use the studio when I am
not there. It is free on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, and occasionally at
other times, especially during holiday periods. Ideally, I would like to rent
the studio to one other user for these three days, but I am also happy to let
it to someone who would like to use it for one or two regular days each week.
It is equipped for a musician or music teacher, but I would be equally happy
with a suitable non-musical use.
Costs
1 day per week £50 per day
2 days per week £45 per day
3 days per week £40 per day
I'm not trying to make a killing on the studio - just to share occupancy on a
basis which is fair in terms of the costs (rent, service charge, soundproofing,
phone, piano etc.) which I incur as studio holder. Shared occupation is
permitted by the lease, and if you work for more than four or five hours per
day, I think you'll find - as I do - that you are much better off than in
similar facilities which charge on a per hour basis.
Please feel free to call me at the studio for more information, or if I'm busy,
have a chat with my wife on 01323 833807.
