Kurt Weill

The statements about Kurt Weill and his effort to compose Jewish music are 
very true.  Interestingly enough, one of his earliest compositions is called 
"Orpah's Leider" and is a song cycle based on texts by Yehuda Halevi.  It is 
dated 1916.
