Dear everyone,
The "aye aye maties" that Sam Weiss refers to as an Irish Tseyrey is
incorrect.
Firstly, the "aye aye" that he says he remembers from the movies, is in fact
a Cornish accent, originating from the Devon & Cornwall regions of Great
Britain.(South West Coast)
Secondly, the Irish ring that he mistakenly thinks is "Aye Aye" is not!
A true Irish pronounciation of that vowel would be "Hoiy Hoiy" (I'm
serious!)
I'm still fairly convinced that the pronounciation of the Dutch Tzeyrey is
unique to the Netherlands.
B'shalom,
Simon Spiro.
