The great Victoria Hazan sang a similar text to what Judith has written
here, with two additional verses. Victoria's version is chock full of the
the microtones and rhythmic subtitles that Judith makes reference to (which
I, and I am sure Judith too, believe are so essential to the singing of
this music!)

I've heard the Greek sung as mavromatia mou, and not mavramatio mou. It
translates literally as my dark eyes, or more accurately as my dark-eyed
one.
