sorry, I re-read my message about transcription and realized I had
inserted a paragraph in the wrong place so it doesn't make any sense. I
won't reproduce the whole message but the paragraph "this is generally
impossible" was meant to follow the part about transcribing a piece of
oral tradition so that someone would know how to sing it just from the
transcription. Then I got tied up tlaking about asymmetrical metres and
dancing! Sorry. Mea culpa. Etc. Judith
