Re: Gottheil's hymns



Robert,

If I read your post correctly, the Gottheil setting of "Adir Hu" is new to
you.

I'm quite certain that this tune was taught to us at East Midwood Jewish
Center in Brooklyn, NY by Dr. Irving Cohen
.
I guess that what we see as "traditional" Jewish melodies is, at least
partly, based on what we heard as children.
