Ari quotes from "Fiddler on the Move" by M. Slobin:
"For klezmer, far more common than plans for media
marketing is the strategizing of the local working band,which features the
eclectic mix of musics that klezmorim have always offered the playing
public . . . p.39"
That's a sentence from academia.
For another sentence, try reading the whole book.

P.S. H. Sapoznik's "Compleat Klezmer" intro is still the best writing on
klezmer. Short, yes, but it's jam-packed with poignant memoir, keen
observations on music, knowledge of Yiddish, and lot of wit. Sapoznik has
a great ear.
