In remembrance of Kristallnacht, the JCC on the Palisades presents

"SONGS OF THE HOLOCAUST: A COMMEMORATIVE RECITAL"
Sunday, November 11, at 3:00 PM

Cantor Sam Weiss, a native speaker of Yiddish, brings to life the poignant 
songs created in the World War II ghettos and concentration camps, as well 
as some of the commemorative music written after the Holocaust.  Produced 
in the most grievous of circumstances by children and adults engulfed by 
death and horror, this music provides a unique insight into the emotional 
state of the victims and the indomitable nature of the human spirit. 
Through a powerful performance and an original commentary on the text, 
music, background, and circumstances surrounding the material, this 
lecture-recital vividly recalls a lost Jewish world.

FROM N.Y.C.
GW Bridge to Palisades Parkway North to Exit 1 (Englewood Cliffs/Palisades 
Avenue). Make rlght. At the light turn right onto Route 9W North. At 4th 
light turn left onto E. Clinton Avenue. JCC is 3/4 mile on right.

GARDEN STATE PARKWAY:
North, Exit 161 to Roule 4 East
South, Exit 163 to Route 17 South to Route 4 East
Continue as described below ("from Route 4")

N.J. TURNPIKE:
Exit 18 to Route 46 East to Grand Avenue. Proceed north past Route 4
Continue as described below ("from Route 4")

FROM ROUTE 4:
Exit Grand Avenue/Englewood. Bear right and turn right onto Grand Avenue, 
which becomes Engle Street. Continue north past Englewood Hospital. Turn 
right at the second light past the hospital onto E. Clinton Avenue. JCC is 
approximately 1 mile on left.

FROM SOUTH OR WEST:
NJ Turnpike (95) North or Route 80 East to Broad Avenue. Exit. Bear right 
onto Broad Avenue toward Englewood. Broad Ave. becomes Dana Place. Take 
Dana Place to end. Make right onto E. Palisades Ave. 3rd block (on left) 
turn left onto  N.Woodland Street to end. Turn right onto E. Clinton 
Avenue. JCC immediately on left.

FROM NORTH:
Palisades Parkway South to Exit 2. Make left off ramp onto Route 9W So. At 
3rd light turn right onto E. Clinton Avenue. JCC is 314 mile on right.
