"Din" is really composed of two words: "de" (of, from) and "in" (in). In this
case, it just means "from."
(For example, "sunt din Bucuresti" means "I'm from Bucharest.")

Klezmer recording afficianados, please help me:
In "Serba din New York" what does the "din" mean? Or is the N a typo that
was passed down to me?
