seeking LA Yiddish dancers

I received the following request and wonder if anyone from the list can help
this person. Please respond directly to: goodmandance (at) hotmail(dot)com

I am working on putting a couple of dances on tape . I am working with a
wonderful woman, Miriam Rochlin, who was the ass't director of Benjamin
Zemach's Yiddish dance and theater companies here in L.A. for 20 years in the
50's and 60's. She spent several weeks studying with Visonsky, who was brought
out here by Zemach back then.

On June 30, I will be taping a session of Miriam teaching a sher and a
freylach, using Visonsky's book as the basis, along with other elements from
Miriam's experience and my research, and the knowledge of some of the people
involved. I am looking for another couple or two to participate, specifically
seniors with their own experiences and memories or anyone younger who has some
background. If you are in contact with anyone around here who you might refer
to me, I would very much appreciate it.

My own background is in modern dance, which I have performed, choreographed and
taught for 30 years, and in an on-going interest in how dance lives in the
cultures of the world, and in how it functioned in Judaism from Biblical times
to the present.

Sincerely,
Karen Goodman
