Seth Austen & Beverly Woods at 57th Annual New England Folk Festival

This weekend, April 20-22, 2001, Seth Austen and Beverly Woods will be
appearing at the 57th Annual New England Folk Festival (NEFFA) at the Natick
High School in Natick, Massachussetts.

Saturday, April 21 at 10AM: Intro to Klezmer. Seth and Beverly will give a
brief introduction to the scales and rhythms used in klezmer, the
traditional instrumental music of the eastern-European Jews. Beverly and
Seth perform some samples from the klezmer repertoire on mandola, fiddle,
tsimbl (an eastern-European hammered dulcimer), guitar and piano and will
teach a couple of traditional melodies by ear. Bring your instruments!

Sunday, April 22 at 10:30 AM: Hammered Dulcimer Workshop. Join host Fred
Montague along with David Neiman, Carrie Crompton, Beverly Woods and Seth
Austen for a truly diverse sampling of contemporary hammered dulcimer
styles.
