You're getting into a hazy area here between religious iconography and
religious art.

Of course, I'm not a rabbi, but I would guess that the problem is not so
much commercial use as enabling a chance that the 'art' which contains
shamos (Divine names) will end up being displayed in an inappropriate place,
or otherwise treated with disrespect.

Personally, I have a problem with such cover art because when I get an album
with that sort of thing on it, I feel that I can never get rid of it by
trading it in as used. But maybe I'm just being obsessive-compulsive.

In 25 words or less- the problem is not the iconography, but what might
happen to the iconography.
