Jewish Grammys?

For the record, there are FIVE (count 'em, FIVE) separate award categories
in the Grammys for Gospel music and SEVEN separate categories for "Latin"
music (NOT including a separate category under the Jazz awards for Best
Latin Jazz album).

Gospel Categories include:
Rock Gospel Album
Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album
Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album
Traditional Soul Gospel Album
Contemporary Soul Gospel Album
Gospel Choir or Chorus Album

Latin categories include:
Latin Pop Album
Traditional Tropical Latin ALbum
Latin Rock/Alternative album
Salsa Album
Merengue Album
Tejano Album
Mexican/Mexican-American Album

Presumably this distribution of awards is somehow based on market share (it
would be interesting to find out NARAS"s official position on the
distribution of award categories).

Oddly, there are only two categories for Blues (traditional and
contemporary), and it used to be the same for Folk (traditional and
contemporary), , but there is now a new category that comes under "Folk" =
"Best Native American Music Album".

only one award for Reggae, one for "Best World Music Album," and of course,
one for "Best Polka Album."
