It's probably not a bad idea for performing singers to invest in
purchasing the available books that contain complete texts of the more
commonly known songs. You can find the text to Yankele and like songs in
quite a number of these song collections, and then you don't always need
to depend on the kindness of strangers for help in obtaining the words.
(Of course, when it comes to the more obscure songs, the task becomes
more difficult, especially when elderly informants remember only tiny
fragments of the original text!)
