February Klezmer Workshop Extravaganza

Experience the different sounds, styles, rhythms and flavors of klezmer music
at the Folklore Society of Greater Washington's Mini-Fest
Saturday, February 3
2:15 - 3:15 at Takoma Park Middle School
Takoma Park, Maryland

Tom Puwalski, clarinetist extraordinaire and author of the upcoming book, 
"Learning Klezmer Clarinet" 
transcriptions and interpretations of the works of 
early 20th century klezmer clarinetists,
and 
Lox & Vodka 
will lead a klezmer workshop.

Help find the answers to these questions:
Where does Klezmer music come from?
What makes Klezmer, Klezmer?
Can I be a Klezmer musician?
Do I want to be???
And plan on clapping, singing and heating up the room big time!!

Lox & Vodka recordings, "Heavy Shtetl" and "Celebrate Shabbat" will be 
available for sale.

Admission fees:
- Full Day (both afternoon & evening activities): Adults $12 (non 
FSGW-members $15);  Kids 6 - 12,  $5 (non-members $6);  Kids under 6 
admitted 
free 
- Half Day (either afternoon or evening activities): Adults  $7 (non-members 
$10);  Kids 6 -12,  $3 non-members $ 4);  Kids under 6 admitted free 
Directions: The Takoma Park Middle School is on Piney Branch Road between 
Flower Avenue and MD410 (Philadelphia Avenue at that point).
