<<Khevre,

As far as I understand, Mogen Ovos is the jewish name of a natural minor
scale.

Am I right or is there a difference?

Have other 'usual' occidental (melodic, harmonic) scales also jewish names?

Thanks!

Other modes include:

Ahava Raba (or the "Hava Nagila" mode) has flat 2, 6, and 7
    i.e. D Eb, F#, G, A, Bb, C, D

Adoshem Malach is major with a flat 7
    i.e. D, E, F#, G, A, B, C, D

Slicha Mode is basically a minor scale, often with the Ukranian-Dorian
variation, which means a raised 4 and 6
    i.e. D, E, F, G#, A, B, C, D also called Misheberakh

The modes (at least in Chazzanut) have other characteristics as well, include
which scale degree commonly ends a phrase, which scale degree is a tone of
repetition, and which motifs are common.
