Yiddish singer and comic Avi Hoffman headlines a group of special guests 
scheduled to participate in the 4th Midwest Klezmer and Yiddish Music Weekend 
at the Mayer Kaplan Jewish Community Center in Skokie on April 29-30. 

Sponsored by the JCC and the Klezmer Music Foundation, the weekend is 
designed for Yiddishkeit and Klezmer music enthusiasts as well as 
professional and amateur musicians of all ages.  The event kicks-off on 
Saturday evening with a Cabaret performance led by Hoffman and the Maxwell 
Street Klezmer Band.  A series of Yiddish and Klezmer performances, folk 
dancing and cooking workshops, and lectures and instruction by prominent 
educators will be held Sunday prior to an evening gala concert featuring 
Klezmer music, Yiddish theater and dancing.

Musicians and music enthusiasts are invited to sign up for the entire weekend
