Re: Max Epstein (1913-2000)

So sorry to lose Max.   The brilliance of his playing and his generous, 
unassuming character were a great inspiration.  The clear, proud, joyous 
sound of the Dukes of Freilachland delivered the essential spirit of klezmer 
to our generation in its very ordinary-looking LP sleeve, like a bar mitzvah 
present from your favorite uncle.  What a gift of love they gave us.  
Freilachland will never be the same without the Dukes.
