Hi Bob and All,
"With Every Breath-The Music of Shabbat at BJ" caught me totally of
guard...being from the Knitting Factory......definately not a typical
Shabbos, but very interesting and enjoyable. Lots of Middle Eastern
rhythms....and , there are WOMEN on the recording. The music consists of
Sephardic, Ashkenazy, Hassidic, Middle East, Turkish and South Asia melodies.
Yes Joel, there is a Ladino piece on it "Ein Keloheinu".
The concept is similar to "Tuning The Soul - Worlds of Jewish Sacred Music"
by Richard Kaplan & Michael Ziegler, the Cd I posted last week .The response
to that Cd was very great, and I think this new recording will be very well
received for it's execution.
