"The Klezmer Hour" returns to the Internet "airwaves" tonight at 9pm Eastern time

Assuming no technical glitches, "The Klezmer Hour," hosted by yours truly,
will begin its summer broadcast season this evening (Monday, June 28) at 9pm
Eastern U.S. time.

Based at WCFM 91.9FM at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass., the show is
broadcast over the Internet at
http://wso.williams.edu/orgs/WCFM/realaudio.html.

"The Klezmer Hour" features a wide-range of well-known and obscure
recordings drawn from a library of over 300 CDs representing a variety of
styles ranging from reissues of vintage 78s, traditional reconstructions,
music of the klezmer revival, contemporary klezmer fusions and cutting-edge
new Jewish music.

Tonight's show will most likely warm up the season with a broad survey
approach, looking at the vast richness of the Klezmer and Yiddish musical
tradition.

Occasionally the show has a specific theme or focus -- in the past, for
example, we have honored the contributions of Dave Tarras and Naftule
Brandwein with original recordings and new recordings based on their
repertoire, or focused on klezmer-jazz fusions, or the new wave of European
klezmer music, or recordings showcasing a particular instrument, such as
violin or clarinet.

FOr the most part, the programming of "The Klezmer Hour" is spontaneous and
improvisatory, in keeping with the "in the moment" spirit of the music.
