Mountain Green Concerts Proudly Presents:

AN EVENING WITH
LOX & VODKA

Join us for an exciting and entertaining journey from
sthetl life to today.

LOX & VODKA offers an enchanting, entertaining and emotionally enriching
ethnic experience. Audiences can expect to be active participants in a LOX &
VODKA concert, learning songs in foreign languages and clapping to Klezmer
rhythms. And when the band gets an audience full of enthusiastic listeners up
to dance, the atmosphere is electric!
Saturday, February 6
8:00 pm
Kepler Theater
Hagerstown Junior College
Hagerstown, MD

Klezmer music, which the band defines as Jewish soul music, has been in
existence since the Middle Ages when klezmorim (itinerant musicians) would
travel from shtetl (village) to shtetl to play for Jewish weddings and other
celebrations. As they traveled, the musicians adopted a wide range of musical
idioms. In turn-of-the-century America, the klezmorim quickly mastered new
instruments and styles. Today we see a revival of this spiritually endowed
musical form with contemporary flavors. LOX & VODKA is proud to be part of
this inspiring renaissance.

So join the band who was the first musical talent at the MCI Center in
Washington, the Kennedy Center's Artist in Residence, the Washington Post's
Best pick and the Smithsonian Institute's featured performer for an evening of
great fun, lots of laughter and of course wonderful music.
