Hi Robert,
As to

it's a one act opera composed in 1921 which caused some scandal at the
time. The story (by August Stramm) is about a sex-obsessed nun who ao tears
the loincloth from a crucified Christ. "A perverse and totally immoral
affair" according to "Zeitschrift für Musik" (Musical Review) in 1922. It
cannot be said to have any Jewish references, although it proved
"gefundenes Fressen" (a real tidbit) for Goebbels and his bastards when
accusing, and later expulsing, Hindemith for "an un-German attitude" in
1934.
Best,
Ingemar J.
