Tzimmes Educational Concert

Friends,

There's an upcoming concert that may interest those of you in the Vancouver,
BC area. Here are the concert details:

On Sunday November 29, 2:00-3:00 pm, in the Theatre Gallery, Museum of
Anthropology, University of British Columbia, 6393 NW Marine Drive, Tel.
822-4604.

Tzimmes - Jewish World Music Ensemble will present an educational concert
to introduce Yiddish songs and Klezmer music as related to Jewish musical
traditions during the period covered by the exhibition "Remembering Luboml -
Images of a Jewish Community - a Photographic Exhibit".

Free with Museum admission.

The picture exhibit which forms the context of the concert is about a
vanished Polish Jewish town called Luboml (Libivne in Yiddish). This exhibit
has been touring world-wide since it originally opened in Yad Vashem in July
1997. It is a celebration of the *life* of a Jewish shtetl, not primarily a
memorial of its death at the hands of the Nazis. Some of you may have heard
about, or seen it when it was installed at Yeshiva University's Cardozo
School of Law Gallery (in New York) from September thru December 1997.
