I'm in Massachusetts and can't really recommend a teacher in Brooklyn,
but one thing you can do is order a copy of the book "The Compleat
Klezmer" by Henry Sapoznik and Peter Sokolow. It's available from the
publisher, Tara Publications (http://www.jewishmusic.com) along with
an accompanying CD or casette. Some of the simpler tunes, such as
Harry Kandel's "A Nakht in Gan Eden" are playable with Suzuki Book 1
proficiency. The more advanced tunes, including the Naftule Brandwein
and Dave Tarras repertoire, will require the equivalent of Suzuki Book 3
proficiency. Good luck.
