RE: Cimbalom recordings, history

The tape "Fuge Imaginea" has incredibly beautiful and powerful cimbalom
playing by Alex Eppler. Miamon Miller and Michael Alpert are two of the
other performers on this fantastic tape that contains Jewish, Romanian,
and Transylvanian material. Unfortunately I think it is
out of print. Does anyone know if Alex is performing on cimbalom lately?

Stuart (Stewart?) Brotman plays a mean jewish style cimbalom but I don't know
if he has been recorded at it. Anyone?

Kalman Balogh has released two CDs featuring himself on Cimbalom.
I just got one of them from Music Boulevard and it is great.

I have seen numerous suggestions on the EEFC
list server (majordomo (at) eefc(dot)org) that the Cimbalom came to Europe from
India well before the 1400's but I don't have any scholarly sources to
back this up.

Muszikas: The Lost Jewish Music of Transsylvania has some fine cimbaloming
on it, played by Arpad Toni.
