Dear Mr. Gerben:
In response to your query about obtaining a copy of David's Violin:
Slobin has published a reconstruction of this work in the collection
"Yiddish Theater in America: David's Violin and Shloyme Gorgl", part of the
series edited by Deane Root: _Nineteenth-Century American Musical Theater_,
published by Garland, 1994.
(I wrote a review of this work in _Notes: Quarterly Journal of the Music
Library Association_ that appeared in the December, 1997 issue.)
There is a copy of the musical score of David's violin under the title
_Dowids fiedele_ published by Hebrew Publishing Co. in 1912 listed as
available at Brown University.
Hope this helps. Judy.
